Karen is a BC Registered Massage Therapist who loves the outdoors and has lived and played in the Columbia Valley since 2008. She developed an interest in massage therapy while studying Forestry and Agriculture at UBC, and after many years working in the woods both on the west coast and in northern BC she decided to take the next step and further her education. After graduating from a 2 year, 2200 hour Massage Therapy Program at Vicars School of Massage Therapy, Karen successfully completed the board exams and became a BC RMT in 2019.
Karen believes in a patient centred care approach to treatment and that experience with pain is unique for every person. By listening and working with you to determine your needs and goals, she uses a combination of therapeutic and Swedish massage techniques to create a treatment specifically for you. She believes that every person is unique and her goal is to provide you with the type of treatment that you would like and will work best for you, to help keep you moving with ease.
When not at the clinic, you can find Karen in the forest, hiking in the mountains, practicing yoga, paddling, cross-country skiing and skating on the lake in winter. Her warm, grounded, and friendly presence is sure to be a welcome asset to your healthcare.
